Tailored and seductive apartment in Milan

A tailored and seductive apartment in Milan designed by Galbiati Arreda takes center stage on the pages of AD Architectural Digest.

Laura, the homeowner, has always worked in fashion and has a deep love for beauty and refined taste. Her home is a curated collection of unique pieces: artworks, vases and sculptures. Photo Cristina Galliena Bohman styling Francesca Martinez

Designed specifically for a homeowner passionate about fashion and art, the interiors of this Milanese residence near CityLife reflect her refined taste, with spaces that evoke a contemporary art gallery.

The Presotto wooden wardrobe creates a connection between the corridor and the entrance. From here, the living room is reached through a monumental red arch. Above the suspended catch all console hangs the Laguna lamp by Artemide, while the striking golden stool by Pianca serves as seating, resembling a small sculpture. The central partition, which acts as both the heart and divider between the living room and the entrance, features a through niche finished in gold. This opening in the wall is clad with a reflective metal sheet in yellow toned shades that perfectly complements the apartment’s other precious finishes. The project, designed by interior designer Federico Galbiati together with the Galbiati Project team, emphasizes organic forms, sophisticated colors and precious materials. Spaces unfold like theatrical backdrops: from the monumental entrance with its red arch to the living area and display corners that host artworks and selected design pieces. Custom wood boiserie, metallic surfaces and golden finishes stand out throughout, creating an atmosphere that is both enveloping and contemporary.

Behind the central partition, which hosts the Adriani e Rossi sculptural wall lamp, lies the living area with the sculptural Flou sofa. In neutral tones, this piece blends into the architectural envelope, allowing the metallic golden elements to stand out. The rug is by Minotti. In the kitchen, the central island becomes a true convivial focal point, with metallic lacquered fronts and Calacatta Oro gres details contrasting with the dramatic hood. In the bathrooms and sleeping areas, materials such as marble, wood and reflective surfaces ensure stylistic continuity and a seductive aesthetic, carefully crafted down to the smallest detail.

The entrance is the key element of the project, defined by wine red tones and warm wood essences. At the center of the space, covered in Kerakoll resin, lies the round rug by Amini.
