With a family tradition spanning more than 150 years, Ligne Roset has been producing its furniture along the Rhône river since 1860. The company’s craft roots are deeply rooted in its operations, with all the furniture made in Briord, where a large workshop houses skilled artisans who carry out much of the production by hand. The creation of chairs or sofas requires a high level of craftsmanship, and two expert upholsterers are dedicated to training new apprentices. This one-year in-house training programme ensures the necessary precision and dexterity, honoring craftsmanship and ensuring the quality of end products.

The art behind the creation of Ligne Roset furniture is evident in the manual operations at the Briord factory, where the production of chairs and sofas requires minimal industrial processes. Watching the tappers at work is like witnessing a well-prepared performance, while masterfully applying precise movements in a continuous sequence. Each seamstress and upholsterer brings their own unique touch, and their experience translates into exceptional quality. The company’s focus on manual work guarantees the excellent craftsmanship for which Ligne Roset is known. The care in the organization of materials, such as wire spools and color-coded foam densities, allows you to create a comfort tailored to each piece.
Commitment to eco-design
Eco-design is at the heart of Ligne Roset’s approach, with a focus on integrating rigorous environmental criteria into the design of each product since its creation. This approach involves identifying environmental issues throughout the product life cycle, reducing impact during production and ensuring that materials used can be easily recycled. Ligne Roset is committed to sourcing wood exclusively from ecologically managed forests, using PESC Bois d’origine, equivalent to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood. The company strives to limit its environmental footprint by designing components that are compartmentalized to facilitate recycling and reducing waste through sustainable production processes.
